Setting & changing static IP addresses for AP Encoder & your computer
When would you use this scenario?
If you are wanting to mix in other RTSP feeds (like IP Cameras) with the feeds from your AP Encoder, you will need to make sure that your computer and your AP Encoder are on the same static network range as the other RTSP feeds.
You should use this guide alongside your IT group, who will understand and be able to support you further.
Setting your Static IP Address
If using macOS, we recommend creating a new location in your network configuration window for each stadium/ground that has a different address. This will mean you can switch between these different ‘stadium’ locations in your settings when you return.
After speaking with the IT group at the stadium to know the range that the other RTSP feeds are on, you will need to ask them for a static IP Address you can use for your computer(s) that will not clash with other devices on the network. This is the static IP Address you will set for your computer(s) in the ethernet network settings. Note that each computer that may be connected to your switch will need a separate IP Address.
When you have completed this stage, check that you can access the RTSP feed before you proceed to changing the AP Encoder settings.
Changing the AP Encoder address
Connect to your AP Encoder through an internet browser by typing the address of the AP Encoder (192.168.2.168 by default) and pressing enter, then typing ‘admin’ in the username and password boxes that show.
You will need to change the IP Address settings of the encoder so that it matches up with the range for the stadium, provided to you by the IT group. This must be an available IP Address to use in the network. Go to ‘System’ and then ‘Network’ in the encoder settings.
Once you have changed the IP Address of the encoder, click ‘Apply’ and then click the ‘Reboot’ option. When this has completed, you can reconnect to the encoder on your internet browser to see the new RTSP addresses for each of the feeds.
Once you change the IP Address of the encoder, each of your feeds will have a new RTSP address:
